Ginger has been shown in a recent clinical study to be very effective in relieving morning sickness in pregnancy. Though use in pregnancy is contraindicated by German Commission E, there is no evidence to support this. While use in of ginger in pregnancy is probably safe, consult a physician beforehand. Use in post-operative patients requires close monitering, due to ginger's potent thromboxane synthetase inhibition and prostacyclin agonist activities.
